I have a Dayton G73 heater already, and it works pretty well; this seems to be a very close clone.

Great price. Do keep in mind this is 17,000 BTU, whereas the smallest gas forced air garage heater is usually 40,000 BTU.

I called ahead and they had two left in stock at the store. Said I'd be right down to get them. By the time I got there they sold them to someone else.

My order just came in at the store yesterday and I picked the 2 of them up.
Since my garage is not yet insulated and it's got a ventilated roof in the loft that is not yet closed up, there's no chance of keeping any heat in there. So I set one of the new heaters up with a power cord and plugged it into a 240v outlet in the garage. The mounting hanger bracket makes for a nice handle, and the unit is not very big. So it makes a nice portable unit that I could set down next to me while working. Just the right amount of heat to stay comfortable while working out there last night with below freezing temps outside. The quality of the unit looks good, especially for $89, and it works like it's supposed to.

I picked one of these up in ATL this week, I mounted and wired it today. Dedicated 30A feed using 10-2 wire.

Unless I have something wrong I'm surprised at the performance of the unit, especially the fan, it has almost no sound and you can barely hear it. I figured the fan would make more noise, by my guess it seem to only be turning about 500-600 rpm?

I let it run for about 10-12 minutes and with a pyrometer checked and found a temp on the inside of the unit anywhere from 135-160. I guess that is maybe about right, just curious about other reports on how it is working for people?

I bought it at $99 minus the $20 coupon, but I did get a flyer in the mail with that price.....

My buddy installed it in his garage and at first I thought it was a complete failure, it just doesn't move much air, tho what does come out is plenty hot. Since then he says he thinks it does better than we first expected and he thinks it's going to do exactly what he was hoping for.

Any reports on the performance of these units? I got mine wired up properly and the heating elements seem to be working fine. But the after about 2 minutes of running the fan begins to make a racquet like it begins to hit against something in the case? I haven't had a chance to get on a ladder with it on the see what is going on.

Anyone have a similar issue. I know the unit is discontinued at Northern and I'm sure they would refund the money but I'm not sure I'll be able to get a replacement???

I just ran into the same issue with the fan and im trying to figure out how to fix it. Ive had it on for abo it a month now and it runs at a 10 to 20% duty cycle to keep it at 50. Today it started making a horrendous noise and after checking it out up close, sure enough, the cheap fan was so loose that it was wobbling around hitting the inside of the heater. I took it apart but cant really figure how the fan was able to stay attached to its assembly for the past month. Does anyone know how the blade attaches to the fan assembly?

I have the ProFusion Model#*@#$EH-4604B--7,500 Watt. There are two versions of the 7,500 watt--one with Ni Cr element and one with standard metal element--I have the standard one. This is my third year with the unit and it seems to be less efficient and/or the thermostat is no longer accurate. We smoke often and repeately in the garage--do I need to dissaseble and spray the heating element and thermostat with electrical contact cleaner, or is the heating element wearing out? This year I had one foot of insulation blown into the atiic--there was batt up there but fifty plus years old and very thin. The thing is that I have to turn it all the way to the full setting to keep it comfortable in the garage, whereas last year before the blown in insullation I keept it at around 50% power. Is it dirty or is this the old you get what you pay for and the heating element is wearing out? I also seem to remember you couldn't stand right in front of it for very long because the blown air was that darn hot and it doesn't seem that hot any more.

Anyway, I'd like to purchase an electric garage heater for a 500 sq ft garage. I'd like something that heats up quickly and is semi-quiet, remote would be nice. I don't want to know about watts, volts, dip and Velcro, BTUs or anything else (the dip and velcro is what my Marine son uses so I thought you men might too.) I have an electrician who will be installing a 220/240 line and the heater as soon as I purchase something. I'll be using the garage for painting crafts and using my sewing machine. I will not hold you accountable, just give me a damn name and model number please. I cannot look any longer and my husband wants me out of the house with my "little projects."

If you know you're going to be at a bench or table and want spot heat look into a Fostoria infrared:

These heat objects, not the air but if you hang it over a bench can be quite useful for almost immediate spot heat.

If it were me I'd use one of these in concert w a forced air unit. While the forced air is bringing the whole volume of the room up to temp you can work under this. And for quick 10 minute jobs where there's no point in heating the whole room you can stay comfortable at your bench w an infrared.
