Just got this little gem for being a good boy in 2020. Finally got it setup and noticed that it wasn't holding pressure. After some soapy water all over this is what I found.

Its not a huge deal, but is there something I can do to get the leak to stop here? I wasn't exactly sure if that is a big nut that could just be tighten down...kind of looks like its welded in place.

From picture to me it looks threaded. Maybe it needs tightening, otherwise I'd return it since it's new.

Kind of odd looking. It seems to be threaded in pretty deep for an NPT threaded plug, yet it isn't sealing very well. Getting that out isn't going to be a fun job and will likely mess up your paint. I'd live with it or return it, but I wouldn't bother trying to remove that on a brand new machine.

that could be loctited in and will be a bear to move, as already stated.
live with it, or return it and get another one . don't mess with it prior to warranty period or you'll probably screw yourself by tampering with it.

Count me in the "return it" side.

Sorry, but on a brand new unit, no way I'd be messing with that to try and fix it. Their warranty guys might be paid by the hour to fix leaky air compressors, but the consumer sure as hell isn't.

Maybe if enough people cost them money returning leaky compressors, they'll figure out they should pay more attention to quality control.

Well **** I already tried to tighten it with pipe wrench since it seems someone misplaced my other wrench. I did manage to put a couple little marks on it, but still bubbling. Even though it has a 5 year warranty, this thing is almost 600 pounds. I really don't want to have to return it...delivery and all ***** where I am at. I will get in touch with them and see what they say. I think its something I can live with, but definitely ***** for how much this cost. Even though it was a gift from my significant other(who is pissed even more about it than i am).
