Northstar air compressors

I searched and was unable to find any reviews and I know this has come up on here before. Has anyone bought one of these Northstar compressors from Northern Tool yet? The one I am looking at is 7.5hp/80gal and puts out 26.2 CFM at 90 PSI its made in the USA. I've been unable to find anything used locally and would like to buy something ASAP.

I am opening a one man german car repair shop soon. I do restoration work and fabrication too so I would like something that can keep up with a blast cabinet, die grinders, etc. without struggling. I'd rather go big than have to upgrade later on. I'd like to keep the cost under $2k. Any thoughts or comments appreciated. Thanks.

They are outstanding compressors made by quincy for northern tool. A friend of mine as an older model for the last 5 years and it has been fantastic. I'm jealous every time I see it.

Are you sure on that?
I looked pretty close at them and the pump looks very similiar to the Italian ones made for Bel-Aire.

The stand alone northstar pumps are listed as being made in Italy. Check the Q&A on some of them

You may be right. The 15.9 CFM 2 stage pump I've been looking at lists as being made in Italy for NT.

That looks like a T29S two stage compressor pump. The same one that comes on BelAire compressors and on the Harbor Freight 60 gal two stage compressor.

No, I was mistaken. My friends compressor is an older "Northern industrial" air compressor from Northern-tool. It is flat red painted and it is made by quincy.
The newer Northstar compressors are completely different. I didn't realize they changed them. I thought they just changed the color of the tank since the specs stayed about the same.
