Does anyone have any experience with these?

Northern tool has $200 gift card up to $1000 going right now.

They have a four year warranty and the reviews are great for the 60 gallon machines but barely any reviews for the 80 gallon machines.

I've listened to my oil less Craftsman for 25 years. I'd really like a two stage.

HF gets their 5hp from IMC and that is who you would deal with. Warranties from discounters, on big ticket items make me nervous. You don't want to exchange a big heavy compressor. Most of these outfits are bad news if something goes wrong. They are retailers, not manufacturers. Find out exactly how warranty problems are handled by Northern. Who made the compressor? A lot of the big box stuff is Campbell Hausfeld if not IMC. DeWalt big compressors are Saylor Beal. Don't dig yourself into a hole.

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to look into the warranty process tomorrow.

I think they are assembled in MN by northern.

So I went to Northern today. They say the 4yr warranty is on all the parts but wear items. You get a 5th year by getting there startup kit which is only like $80.

The 5hp 60 gallon is a rebranded Puma, the others are built by them in Faribault.

They highly push the Quincys.

Bang for the buck the rebranded Puma is hard to beat at like $660 with a 4 years warranty.

It seems the only current tool I have that would be underpowered is the 1/2 drill.

Correct, Northern Tool actually assembles a lot of their North Star items in Fairbault MN (not too far from me). Northern Tool usually has parts in stock that you can get direct from NT, not from the OEM that makes the parts.
