NOS 1/4" Micrometer TQ Wrench-Calibration?

A local guy has a NOS SO 1/4" micrometer torque wrench for sale, I was thinking about picking it up from him. The calibration date is mid 2000's, would this be ok to put into service or would it be best to calibrate first?

If its nos and been stored at the lowest setting it should be fine.
