1140 RPM would be good for a metalworking drill press. I think I see a mounting foot in the first photo. The motor looks large, but 1/2 HP in the low RPM would be about the size of a 1 HP 1740 RPM frame in more modern times.

My thinking, too. There definitely is a foot on it to mount, C-face or not. Shaft size and key are the next questions.

I wish this were closer so I could buy it first and then ask questions!

The shape of the housing looks to be from about 1937 to 1945/46 IIRC? I did some research on a very old 1Hp 10” slow speed grinder that I had a few years ago and it looks exactly like this.
