So at Friday nights auction I bought this for $40

And this for $9. The big jug only has about 3 lbs in it. I will be switching my Trans Am back to R12, the 134A just doesn't cut it in traffic.

Then today I went to the thrift stores with my wife and bought this for $10! They were just all taped together in a bunch.

Will anybody even fill or exchange those cylinders? I've always been leary of buying used torches because no one around here will fill or exchange cylinders in that shape and I"m guessing they haven't benn certified in a good many years.

Well, since I work at the HVAC supply house and deal with Airgas direct it won't be a problem. But we have had guys leave nasty old bottles before and the Airgas guy just says "no problem" and swaps them out. Or a large welding shop should be able to fill for you if you find some old ones and can't swap them out.
