Hey guys. And gals. New to this forum. Found it by searching for information on an old vise from the farm and haven’t been on my usual forum since then. Been reading. Alot. Haha. So this is my first post. Lookin for 5 so I can post pics and get needed info on a grinder. Thanks for haveing me.

Yes been reading lots on vises and grinders. From what I’m reading I think my little half horse china grinder is done. I tore it apart and cleaned it up. All the copper windings are black as in burnt. After reassembly it will start if I give it a helper spin but not by itself. No bearings just bushings. Wife gave 10$ at an estate sale. Love my lady , but tools ain’t her thing. I’m teaching she is learning. Thanks again guys

Have you checked the start capacitor for damage/burns/bulging?

I guess I’m gonna have to ring a grinder parts picture identification guide some where to figure out what’s what. Lol. Would that be the springy collar on one side of the armature? Only thing I saw that might be adjustable by where it sit on the shaft.
