Just installed some 12mm laminate flooring in my home. We have bifold closet doors and I am not sure if I am supposed to screw the red circled piece to the new floating floor. They started to bend when I tried to set the door
Yes, it would be best. I assume the bracket is also screwed to the wall?
If it were my project, I'd make a slightly oversize hole in the new floor, then screw this bottom closet bracket into the floor. If this bracket was there prior to the new floor, maybe the hole is still there too?
If your worried about the floating floor needing to be able to expand and contract drill a hole larger than your screw into the flooring and screw down into the subfloor.
Ok I will give it shot. I thought I read someone suggest using some kind of double adhesive foam to support that bracket. Maybe it is the first sign I am getting old.

I just got a pm saying to drill a pilot hole of 1/4 into about a 1inch depth into the subfloor. Follow that up with a 5/8 spade bit into just the laminate. Then just secure bracket with 3 inch screw into subfloor. Should give room for expansion
