For about a week I'm not getting notifications for new posts in threads I'm subscribed to.
  • No they are not going to spam
  • I've tried "Unwatching" then "Watching" again - No Dice
  • I've tried posting new content - that worked last night, then died today...
  • I had ONE older thread send a notification, but not more recent new posts in other treads.
All in all plain weird.

Are Mods watching this Forum? Do I need to ping a mod directly?

I'm getting them sporadically. Sometimes I don't get any, other times I get a bunch of them. I'm not responding much in threads because I don't know if anyone else has responded. Kinda like talking to yourself. It is saving me a lot of time, though. If it keeps up like this, I'll eventually give up and go away.

I don’t get email notifications for a lot of threads but one or two I do and it seems to be working ok. It always works when I get a message if someone starts a conversation with me or if someone replies to a message.

Yes this happens to me occasionally with certain threads as well. I know you have to view it for you to get more notifications from it but I do view it then I’ll be away and someone will reply and I won’t get a notification. I haven’t gotten any email alerts for any of the ones I have turned on either but it’s not many.

this is after visiting ALL notified threads, then reloading my "watched thread" tab: the bold did not sent notifications...:

I've got email notifications turned off, but your pic shows something I noted in the past few days.

Shouldn't a thread with new unread posts +the bolt titles) go to the top of our watched threads, above the non-bold (read) threads?

No its sorted on last post, so the ones I HAVE read via an Email notice are above the ones I have not. and again, the notices are NOT going to spam, so that's not it...

Have you checked your "watched threads list? I get some, even most, right now - for a while I was getting NONE

Looks like about 10% of emails are failing. I think I found the issue and I'm working on it now.

Did you also figure something out with alerts that aren't using email? Still missing those here for a number of threads.

Any idea what is causing the "alert without emails" to not always alert on new posts? Was it a related issue or is that still unresolved?

I haven't seen that one at all on my end and can't reproduce, but will investigate.

Had it happen with the "Show Your New Tool Arrivals" among others. I think I missed out on a couple pages of new content there. I don't have the emails turned on for most stuff anymore, I prefer the alerts on the site itself, but that's why I noticed.

Here's what I mean:

And yet under alerts, I don't see the highlighted entry, but I do see your reply in this thread:

Not sure I understand why it appears in one place but not the other. Maybe I have something configured wrong, but this is what I am seeing (or not seeing).

Thanks Ryan! I'll monitor and report back if I see anymore. I just cleared all the ones that had not emailed.

No worries and thanks for looking into it when you get the time. Let me know if I can share anything else that might help.

I do click on the notification( the bell) when I am in GJ. and doing a refresh but I also subscribe to have a email sent when new comments are posted
or am I not thinking this right.

Just had it happen again , I have subscribed to the "Word Association" months ago and as of late have not gotten any notices until I happened to reply to one earlier today while in GJ looking around. ( noticed I was behind about 6 pages) and now getting notice that there has been a new response.

If you get one email, but not all it’s likely that it’s my fault… and I’m missing something.

However, you should only get one email per update. Meaning, if you get an email notification that there’s been an update, you won’t get another until you’ve gone to see the thread again. Hope that makes sense.

What Ryan Said however I THINK there is another trick: if you go there, but don't go the end, (like a new page opened..) it doesn't register you as having visited? :dunno: I haven't specifically tested that, but I think I can...
