I've driven past this for years. Now that I've got my own property and am getting ready to replace the single car garage, I was thinking of replacing it with some version of this. Any thoughts about architectural modifications to this?

That looks a LOT like a pre-fabricated gas station popular in the teens and 1920's. As cars became more popular, the oil companies needed to expand their distribution channels quickly to keep up. Pre-fabricated gas stations were a quick way to get a new business up and running.

I really like the open look of classic era gas stations, with their big sets of windows and even glass garage doors. But they were a business, and they wanted you to see what was going on inside. The problem with this idea in some situations is that it allows strangers to see what you've got in your garage. In a remote area, this probably isn't a problem -- although there is also less security from a glass window than there is from a wall. If you take the windows off of that building's face, it becomes just a box with a maybe-too-big roof on it.

But I like the look of it.
