Signed up over a year ago and thought it's about time I made my first post. I live in the Chicago area. I love vintage tools and machines, especially vises and lathes. My name Asport is from another hobby of mine fishing. I have an old Aquasport boat that my dad bought in 1977.

Welcome. How common is it to have a garage you can park in in Chicago? I'm in Toronto and most people here aren't parking in garages - typically it's either on the street or on a small parking pad in the front yard.

It's quite common really. Many homes in the city have a garage or one detached in the back. In the suburbs, most have an attached garage.
