Hello to all, I have been exploring GJ for a couple of years now, but have been informed I never actually said hello in the introduction section.

I found my way here after getting drawn into Gregor's KTM build over at ADVRider http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=461267 and then getting pulled over here into his house and garage build http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=185104. Both of these threads have most likely cost me a month or two of lost productivity, but what a read.
I have a couple of threads of my own now, one is my own workshop build so far http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=279231
and the other is about a big heavy bandsaw http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=249768.

Info about me:

SR: nice set up with the bench and tools. what are you going to build with those now straight 4 x 4's? what kind of wood are they?

i have about 100 10 foot white oak 4 x 4's to plane some day and not sure what i'm going to build. maybe a bench or some nice shelving because i'm using the cedar i have to build a fence.

BTW: reading and learning is probably as productive or more than actually doing something and trying to learn that way.

cheers

Thanks,
If you tune in to the workshop build you will soon see the timber being used to build some barn style doors. The timber isn't anything fancy, just some fast growing pine by the look of it. Cost me a carton of beer and was originally a huge pallet for a dry cleaning machine.
I would have loved to have used oak to build my doors, but could never afford it here in Aus. Timber is not cheap here and good timber is really not cheap.
