Im in the process of getting ready to pour my garage floor,I have about 20 inches of fill to bring in to get it up to the right height.The question I have is I broke up a sidewalk in my backyard and instead of trying to get rid of the big peices I was going to stick them where im going to pour my floor.The slabs are about 3 inches thick and the biggest peice is about 3 feet long.Would this be a problem if there is still a good 16 inches of sand and gravel going over top of these peices.Any advice would really be appreciated!

Never bury trash under the slab. What you save in materials might come back to bite you badly in the rear. Dig a hole on the property, and bury it where it can't do any harm. If you don't want to do that, then either break it into pieces no larger than 1" square, and use it for compacted fill. If you decide to break it up into small pieces, please let us know when you are done, how sore your body is....

broken up concrete bits are often used as fill

they put them into a machine that looks like a really big shreder

dont use them as big chunks
the value of the building far exceeded the value of the disposal
