Hello, yesterday I was at walmart and noticed that some a few Ultra Steel (or was it tough?) tools were made in the USA. This is the walmart brand so I found it quite surprising, no global material shenanigans either like stanley. The three items were, a hacksaw, miter saw and box and a speed square. Square looked fine, but the hack saw was not particularly great.

Also, I have been noticing that quite a few plastic products are being manufactured in the USA as well. I was looking for a small pitcher for water and noticed that all of the brands, walmart, sterile, and rubbermade were made in the US. I bought the $.98 one, handle is a little flimsy but for $.98 and made in the usa I don't have much to complain about.

I doubt anyone cares, but the main reason I went is because they are selling $3.87 ozark trail knives that look pretty decent. One I got has tan g10 and a stone wash blade. Safe to say it is the best knife you are gonna find for less than $5. Going to keep it on the molle webbing of my bag,I'll use it as a beater and something to hone my sharpening skills on. I would rather **** up a $3.87 knife than my delica. I would suggest it to anyone as a back up or a beater, pretty nice for $3.87.

Wal-Mart sells a lot of USA made stuff, people that state otherwise typically are jumping on a bandwagon and do not know what they speak of.

Mainstays plastic products are usually USA made, some actually say sterilite on the product.

They also sell some cooking utensils that have a stainless shaft and plastic end that is USA and those are nice, do not flex like the all plastic kind.

My GF likes the plastic re-usable cups with straws, a year or two ago they had some that were USA made and those outlasted the Chinese ones by years, still in use.

A lot of plastic products at Walmart are US made, storage, kitchenware, etc.

My girl was just shopping for craft stuff last night and I noticed a lot of that was US made, such as the paint and glitter they sell.

I havent really paid too much attention to tools, because I dont go to Walmart to shop for tools.

Oh, and a good portion of their ammo is US made!!!

The $3.87 knives are nice. I bought one. Went back and bought a handful more. Throwing them in the glove boxes, tackle boxes, etc.

Walmart has a terrible reputation and I hate shopping there, but they do try to source stuff from the good ole US Of A.

I might do the same, besides the little bit of blade play it is pretty nice. Very impressive for the price of a coffee.

I don't shop there for tools but I like to see what's going on and check the clearance.

I wish they would sell some USA silverwear, all my stuff is old and mismatched. I really like the usa libby newport glasses, had 5 but the dog knocked one over, was not happy about that.

I've bought Dasco punches, Channellock cutters & tongue & grooves, a Vaughn framing hatchet and pry bar from WM, all within the last 3-4 months and all U.S. made. They had a ton of German made Bostich drill bits on clearance for less than a buck each a few months back as well. Seen an assortment of Stanley Fatmax and Powerlock tapes, razor knives, tubing cutters and screwdrivers all made in the states also. While certainly not a destination for tool shopping, I make a point to always stroll down the tool aisle when in for other things. Also, living near the coast, ours has a sizeable fishing/boating section. I was surprised to find a nice assortment of regional/semi-local made weights, hooks, line and other fishing tackle.

And if you ever go to Hawaii, make sure to go to the Walmart stores there, as they have a "made in Hawaii" section of the store where you can get locally-made shirts and other items for a fraction of what the tourist stores charge.

Great job, please can you post some pic of them? I checked my local Wal Mart and all they have were Chinese made stuff.

Really, I avoid that section like the plague.

If on Oahu - Honolulu, stay away from Ala Moana Center, Ward Warehouse/Villages, Waikiki which are know tourist traps and charge an arm and a leg for stuff. Wal Mart Hawaii section is cheap.

Good to know, I love genuine aloha shirts but they're hard to find on the east coast.

I usually buy my oil there. A five quart jug of mobile-1 goes for around $26, sometimes goes on rollback for $23. Not bad for approximately $5 a quart for synthetic oil!

I did take some pictures but the camera on phone must have cataracts since they turned out awful. If I stop buy in the next few days I will get some decent photos.

I was on a quest for all USA made silverware a year ago, good luck. There is only 1 manufacturer left in the US and they are prices quite high for fancy people. They sell them on Amazon, but I could not purchase, I wanted to, just could not.

Libby, Anchor, and many others still make glasses here in the US. I actually scored a lot of USA made coke glasses (beer style not the green glass) ones for a dollar each, love those glasses. Only glasses ever that have survived a fall. Twice, on the same night I was bragging about my USA made glass to a buddy while drunk out of my mind and the same glass fell twice, rofl. Both times bounced and did not chip or break.
