Notified when someone responds to your post in a thread?

Maybe I'm out of the loop but don't see a setting for this. Is there a way to be notified on site (not via email) when someone responds your post (not general thread notification)? I have seen this feature on other forums and find it handy for quick moving threads. Similar to how you have a pop up if a PM is received.

subscribing usually generates a auto email however I do not know if you can subscribe to your own threads

When you subscribe to a thread it generates an auto email for those that respond to only your post, or all posts in the thread?
