and this is why i stay far away from boards... easier to ignore gaps in a set when there isn't an empty spot on a board

Dang twertsy, I just sold a few 3/8 drive sockets and an open end wrench that you could have used.

But, as always, I'll keep an eye open when I hit the pawn shops!

Next problem.......where the hell are they going to go? The walls are 16' high but I don't want them out of reach.......I'm planning on using their contents. But my walls have no more empty spaces.......I have 3 more boards to hang.........somewhere:dunno: Any thoughts? I'd hate to have to remove anchors/bolts, etc. and rearrange!

In my high school we had a full set of Proto tools on boards mounted on a freestanding circular frame. At the end of auto shop class the teacher would walk around the boards and instantly determine what tools were missing. I cant recall if it was three or four sided but I believe it was three high. Maybe you could make a freestanding display out of Kindorf bolted to the floor.

Just last night (Feb 20) I saw the "American Pickers" in a general store in Elaine (Arkansas, I think), and the first shot inside the General Store showed a wrench-shaped old Williams tool board.

I hollered at the TV as loud as I could, but they went right past it looking for the same tired oil cans and rusty bicycles.
SHEESH!

I need a lot more than I thought. I have no 1/4" drive sockets, extensions or ratchets. Off the top of my head, I need 3/8 drive 12 points, 1/2 inch drive 6 points, 3/8 extensions and wobbles, stubby wrenches, nut drivers and DOE wrenches. I honestly thought I could almost fill them out of my box......NOT:lol_hitti

I took a picture of the easey stuff to find. As for sockets I know I have a few, but all this stuff is tossed in the misc drawer and we're talking at least a couple hundred sockets to go through. But you need them worse then me so maybe one evening this week I'll dig through it. I'll post the pic later

Well after getting a better look at the boards, WHICH ARE VERY COOL! I don't know if what I'm showing you now is gonna help. I also have a 7/16" and 7/32" old style wrench I found after taking this wrench. I also have a proto 12" adjustable, but am afraid you'll need to either come to the table with something very special or pry it from my cold dead hands, she's a quality piece. As for the socket heads, I didn't realize your boards didn't have a placement for those but since you're going proto, we can figure something out if you're interesed. What your looking at is two complete sets of 3/8 drive.

Wow. Those are gorgeous! Peg board tool organization looks good, but if your going to keep tools outside of a box what you have is the best method. That is gonna look incredible if you can fill them.

Ok, here's what I'm looking for and again, I have an entire toolbox of PLOMB & Bonney (although much of those two aren't for trade unless they're doubles), Wright, Williams, P&C, Fleet, Wizard, Easco, Mustang, S-K, S-K Wayne, Billings, Herbrand, Proto doubles, and any other stuff I've dug up that's USA made for trade. Every piece in every drawer is USA. Tell us more about this tool store in Portland, I will be traveling through tomorrow.
Name and address would be great... Rich

Not to hijack the thread but it is in Portland. It is called Ted's Tool Shed and is right off of 205 at the powell exit. If you look it up it will come up online! The guys who work there are nice and will barter on prices. I made a decent haul while there so if you guys want to see it come over to the 2015 garage sale thread. Twertsy-while I was there I looked but was kinda rushed so I didn't find anything for your board but I will keep an eye out!

I think I have a few SAE 12pt 3/8 proto, think some fleet too if they will work for you since proto made them. I'll check my spare sockets when I get home.
