NPT and MIP/FIP

I am putting together an extended run gas setup for my Honda EU2200i generator and confused. The outlet on the gas tank is 1/4" NPT, the quick connect that goes in the outlet is 1/4" NPT. For the other end I have the aftermarket aluminum gas cap with a 1/4 in NPT female opening. When I look at the locally available elbow, because of height restrictions I need to come out of the cap with a street elbow. Home depot 1/4" brass ell says FIP and MIP, are they compatible or do I need to look for something else and what?

Yes.

They're the same thing. FIP is the female NPT, and MIP is the male. It's the correct part.
