Anyone out there have any experience with Klutch sockets? Just trying to find out if they are good for the money. I don't really care to much about COO but I'm a poor industrial maintenance apprentice and can't afford what I really want right now. And seeing how Northern Tool is across the street from my work and I get a coupon for $20 off a $100 purchase it always seems like a good deal.

I have two sets of 1/4" drive SAE and metric sockets from Northern Tool. The first set was purchased before the Klutch name, those sockets are called Northern Industrial. The second set has the Klutch name. Both sets are made in China. Both sets advertise a lifetime warranty. Both sets appear to be from the same manufacturer.

Typically I use Snap-on, Williams, SK, Wright and Craftsman sockets. I got the Northern Tool sockets to carry in my pocket (in a Jensen Tools socket boot) to take to jobs where I was concerned that I would lose or even have a socket stolen. I can loan these to co-workers and have no concern if they lose them. I have been using the NT sockets daily since 2011-12 and have experienced no problems and only lost one socket.

It should be noted that my application is 1/4" drive, low torque. I did lose one socket. Unfortunately my local Northern Tools does not sell 1/4" drive sockets individually so I had to buy another whole set to replace the missing socket. There is the beauty of other brands, you can buy individual sockets. Not sure how NT would handle warranty claims if you had only one bad socket.

Hey, if it's got a lifetime warranty and they honor it...might as well.:D

Don't they sell some of the same stuff harbor freight sells? Maybe they have a higher grade line from taiwan? Don't know. If they do, get that.

That'd be my advice too. If they don't have something Taiwanese, I'd buy some Sunex from Amazon or GW from Advance. Sunex impacts are pretty damn good, and have become my go-to for big sockets that are waaaaaaay to expensive to be buying US for my uses. I have GW 1/4" impacts and Matco ADV 3/8 rebrands and have been happy with them too, and Advance of course has coupons... just gotta do your homework because I've seen things where the coupon brings it down to street price anywhere else.
