I built a nice wooden patio deck with shingle roof. Well my two pugs started to explore and I wasn't too happy with that because they would scratch the wood. Well it got worse. Dogs began to urinate on the 4x4 so I began kicking them off. Well they still made their way on to deck. Then they started taking craps on deck instead of grass which makes no sense to me. Please someone what can I spray or use to keep them off deck. This is ridiculous.

Sorry but, look in the mirror. Dogs will get away with anything they think they can. Don't tolerate it.

Small breed owners are stereotypically the worst because people treat them like children instead of the animal they are, and then wonder why they misbehave.

As for credentials, I have trained two chihuahuas, two boxers, and a great dane. My sister's jack will even behave as a part of the pack ... when she's not around.

Ok. I don't treat em like kids. I actually yell at me when I see them on deck so they can get off. And I kick em right where the crapper is. That doesn't seem to change anything though. I've never been able to break the oldest one from going in my garage and ******* all over my tools. So I just have to shut door after I go in and out. When they were inside we cornered them with some small fencing so they could not roam the entire house.

But I'll rub their face in poop see how that works. Will post update tomorrow.

Rubbing a dog's face in it's shite only teaches the dog that you are a ***** that rubs their face in shite. They don't remember taking a dump 15 seconds after they do it.

Submission works well - shows then you are dominant and you set the rules.

shocking collar.
An invisible fence can be used, not as an entire boundary around a property, but simply to keep them off the deck. You could even install a switch, so that once they got OFF the deck, you could turn it on.

Watch them, when they start to pee, and poop, pick them up, put them on the grass, when they finish, praise them and give them a treat...they will catch on real quick.

When they do go in the right spot, then praise and give them treats, also.

I have always had better luck with kindness and treats, then scolding, and punishment...even though it may take a little longer, in the end they will know what is right, and will not be afraid of you.

Good luck.

we used leash training when our dog was a puppy (still only 16 months old) but we would lead him to where we wanted him to go potty, for the most part, he goes to the general same area still.

I've seen pugs for some reason do this more then most dogs. don't know why. training two at once is hard. recommend looking into leash training. ***** but with two little ones you cant control them to train them. for a quick solution you can put garden fence around it keeping them off. also get some cleaner that will erase dog piss smell. normally used on carpets. they are marking their territory for some reason. show em who's alpha
