Well some you remember old garage as the junkiest ever. It was like straight out of hoarders lol. I started a thread but never got to really finish it because the house was in the middle of a sinkhole lawsuit. So it tidied up a bit but never really made It over. Old thread is hear I'm embarrassed to say. http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=79862

We finally settled our case a bought a new house with a 3 car garage yeah! So I am finally getting to build a garage the way I want it. It is a work in progress but hopefully in the not to distant future all the big stuff will be done.

I started with a bare garage but it had several cracks in the floor. We epoxy filled those flush with crack weld so that they wouldn't show once we epoxy coated the floor. We used Scott brand floor coat system with a polyurethane clear coat. I decided a double layer of chips would make it even. First we diamond grind, wash and acid etch the slab. Then 2 layers grey epoxy and 1 coat of chips. Next we swept up loose chips and layed down clear coat and chips. Then second coat of clear to finish.

All of the cracks are completely buried and I can't even find them. Since it has been a humid summer here in Florida I kept the garage empty for 2 weeks to let it dry.

Next up was some paint I decided I wanted white up top to help lighting and grey down low to tie in the floor. I divided it with a black stripe and added a blue stripe to give it some personality.

Somewhere along the Line a previous homeowner removed the garage door opener for the single garage door. So I installed a belt drive unit to add convenience. It is really quiet and at some point I will switch out the chain drive unit on the double door for a belt drive as well. But that is not a priority right now.

I rolled in a my Matco cart and small craftsman tool box and added some 72" tall craftsman pro cabinets. I love the cabinets and bought them online a few weeks ago when sears was running them 20% off.

That is as far as I have got. Next up I am adding a 3' deep and 30' long shelf above the garage doors. That should give a ton of storage that is out of the way and sight from the curb. Some 220 and 110 outlets for my welders, plasma cutter, air compressor etc. of course it will get a flat screen and some fans as well. I am trying find that sweet spot between workshop and hang out which is tough. Especially since I am more workshop minded.

Well I have had a rough time lately. I had an injury during the move. Tore a tendon on my left bicep. Could hardly use arm for 3 weeks. Then I had to get the last stuff for our old house and reinjured it again setting me back who knows. Maybe surgery maybe not. Othapedic wants to wait and see after he looked at MRI reports.

Anyway I hired a guy to come out and install the overhead shelf I put together. Painted 2x4 tapconed to the wall supports the 3/4 oak plywood panels. The front side is suspended from trusses with 24" pipe I decided to add a 2x4 to the leading edge for additional support preventing sagging. I still need to paint the 2x4 on the front but it's up.

I need to continue getting all my stuff up there so I can get floor space back. I also added 2 box connections in the ceiling to mount 2 overhead fans in the garage. I also now have to start working on all the rest of the electrical upgrades for 220 and 110 outlets around the garage. This arm thing is really slowing me up, well that and working on the rest of the house lol.
