These any good? 8000 LB model with 14' 4" clear height.

Used for many years in a busy auto dealership. Cables were replaced 2 years ago and I believe the pump is new. No leaks, hoses look ok. $800.00 bucks with the lag studs and nuts to hold it to the floor.

What ya think?

one dealer i worked for had nussbaum lifts. i don't recall having any issues with them and they were worn out. for $800 it's a good buy if it doesn't leak.

New they are pricey. Ultgar can comment. He may still sell them new and likely has a lot of experience with them.

we use these type at work and have very little issues. When we have to get any brand specific parts it means a lift will be down for a few weeks. I guess those german parts are hard to get. I would imagine a conventional style lift would not be as troublesome. Basically a pump and a coupel cylinders, the rest is virtually unbreakable steel. Sounds like a good deal if they were maintained. Dealership lifts get quite a workout

It's a two post model with screw-out lift pads. The rubber pads are worn but other than that the lift is in good condition.

I went ahead and made the purchase as I rationalized that even if it breaks, for 800 bucks I have a lot of money left over to fix it.

I have a Nussbaum SPL 8000. Its a 2 post asymetrical. Its from about 1994. We bought it used from a dealer in columbus for $900. That was about 2 years ago. We had a few parts to buy, which are decently expensive. I happen to live just down the road from the USA Nussbaum rep. A guy named Byron Hauser. He was nice enough to come down and inspect my lift and tell me what parts I really needed to replace, etc. Mine certainly isnt pretty but works great, Mine has blue powder coat which flakes off in large sections if its a little rusty. The pads are about 18 bucks a piece. I order parts from the USA distributor. www.jmc-autoequip.com They are up in wisconsin. NOt cheap, but factory parts and great service both customer and tech support. They will walk you through any questions you might have. If you decide to buy it and need help, pictures, etc. Let me know and I will be happy to help any way I can.
