I never heard one called that, but thats what I have used mine for when there is room. It is very effective, say like getting to a soft rounded off nut between a tight fitting fan clutch assembly and water pump hub. Or even a battery cable nut at times. A very useful tool. It kinda grabs at 1+4 o'clock for better access than if you do not have the clearance at 1+6. It also has a cam like action that tightens up for a better tighter grip when turned.
Like the tools name says, it is a nut buster, not a pair of pliers which would just slip chewing things up and doing more damage anyway. ....H
