Basically a socket extension with a screwdriver handle on it. You can put sockets on one end and a ratchet on the other. I had one I found in a pawn shop. Painted the handle red white and blue so it wouldn't disappear. It did anyway. I found another but I'd like a source so I can buy several.

Basically its a handle cast around an extension. I have a NICE 1/2" drive from HF, never saw another one there, but I keep my eyes open.

Regular extension with a swivel head ratchet does the job too.

VIM makes, or at least used to make, these. I believe they called them grip extensions or something similar.

Pretty common over here as most tool kits come with one. They are called 1/4" Drive Spinner Handles and cost about £3.

I bought the green handled extendable harbor freight version. I cant find a link to it, maybe someone can provide it. Cheap, great quality for the price and a nice handle feel.

I think the OP is looking for a version with the 1/4" female on the handle end. So it can be used as an extension if needed and not just as a driver. There are several companies who make 1/4" spinner handles without the extension option.

Most everyone posted here has that ability. (Can't speak for Snap-on)

I think everyone posted ones that did just that?

when I saw the title of the thread I was thinking, a Nutdriver set with the 1/4" square on the back. Like 5/16", 3/8", ect... nut drivers. Does anyone make something like this?

This would be great for breaking loose a nut then using the screwdriver grip to remove the nut.

Have several, also had one made from a lathe turned handle that press fit over a 1/4" extension. End was counter-bored for the drive end of the extension. Nice thing about this approach, works for any length and size extension except the real short ones.

When it was a kid, my gramps gave me a 6" 1/4" drive screwdriver with a recess on top for a 1/4" drive rachet. Had a transparent orange handle. Tiawanese made. I think I still have it after all these years. That was maybe 1991.

It won't hell you find a new one, but here is mine. Definitely older than I am. It was my dads and was old when I first used it as a kid. The detent ball and spring are missing and have been as long as I can remember.

And yes it is a little bent; also as long as I can remember.

No makers marks that I can find:

too bad the better manufacturers don't offer some sort of extension set with a removeable handle, so they can be used as a nut driver, or just an extension.

Mac makes some nice extensions that can be ordered as a set, that have nice handles on them, like a screwdriver. 1/4 and 3/8 drive, different lengths. might be worth looking at.
