Thanks for the deal. I have been thinking of buying some NWS for a while, but i want the 49 finish. :(

A question- what does "american model" mean?

Once again, thanks for the sale Ash!

Hi, the American model is just a name they gave it, basically they are saying traditional style pliers. The 49 is a great option but some people do not like the cutting edges to be chrome and with the 19 finish you don't have to worry about that.

Hmm, i did not realized they were chromed. I want the 49 because of the grips. Do you really think the chrome makes a difference? Or is it more preference?

The only problem with the chrome that I've found is that it flakes off of the cutting edge. It doesn't affect the sharpest or cutting ability of the edge at all but it doesn't look good. I also love the look of the 49 handles but for my next NWS purchase I'll probably go with the 69 or 62 style. I personally don't like the look of the 19 style handles but of course the tools themselves are awesome.

All the NWS tools are made of the same steel so as for performance they are all the same, the finishes are just preferences on what suites the customer better as for corrosion protection, grip style and looks.
