Careful, don't fall for the Fake NWS pliers.

These are SMU pliers found on Aliexpress

https://m.aliexpress.com/item/1005002668033811.html

They even say Quality Germany on them, but also "Piano power" and "Suzhou" instead of Solingen

If it was black friday, and I found these on Amazon for "sale" while distracted or drunk, I could have ended up buying them by mistake.

Hi Vicky!

RE: All of which can not be easily provided by other Hand tools suppliers

This would read more clearly expressed thusly:

“None of which can be easily provided by other hand tool suppliers.”

However, sentence structure like that hasn’t been used in the U.S. since prior to World War One. That’s a really archaic way of expressing that idea.

An American advertising firm would be more likely to use the sledgehammer approach with something like:

“Nobody can match our service!”

just sayin’.

(I am perusing through your site here..... )

You’re what we call a “minority or woman-owned business” here. Very cool.

But you’re not going to make a lot of friends here if you put NWS’s name on your products.

A lot of the guys frown on that.

just sayin’

Happy Thanksgiving!

TBH, the workmanship of these knockoff tools look really good. Here is a good idea. Let Project Farm or others do a comparison between the real deals and knockoffs. The results are useful/entertaining anyway. Whoever does this please send me a $100 gift card for the idea. I have more if you want!

PS: I actually wanted to buy some these pliers just for fun. But they ain't cheap at all. Gosh.

They are 10 dollars. Not cheap, but not expensive either. I agree, with you. I hope to see them with their own original label someday.

depends on shopping skills. i always get irwin, craftsman (previously), etc for $7 or $8. So $10 is not cheap at all. When doyle's in harbor freight has coupons, the price is pretty close. why would anyone pay $10 for this? the seller should sell 5-6 sets of pliers together. maybe this way he can sell more.

Look, two irwin's for $16

China made Irwin are pretty good. How can something sold on ali with no warranty or return be priced higher than Irwin?
but for $2 more I would buy the nws knock off over Chinese Irwin if all I have are the pics to judge by.
And I'm sure it would cost more to warranty the Irwin than they cost. And they know that.
But in reality I would not buy either one of those. I'm thrifty but want GOOD quality for hand tools. Something I know I will not need to warranty.

What strikes me as odd is that they didn't just copy one model of pliers but almost the entire lineup. Makes me wonder if NWS has the forging dies made in China and "Wait" gets them straight from the source.

Even of that's the case, it doesn't mean the quality of the metal is as good, or that it has been properly heat treated. More than likely, they took molds (or laser scans) of authentic NWS pliers and made their own dies.

NWS pliers are over-rated in my opinion anyway.

$10 isn't cheap?

Last pair of pliers I bought ..... $26.34

$10 for pliers is, by definition, cheap.
I can get linemans pliers for less than $5 at the dollar store and the drugstore. That's why I consider them not cheap, but not expensive.

Bingo. If you are thrifty, then you buy the best tools you can afford. That way you save time and money on the long run. If you want cheap, just get the tools at the dollar store (and pray).

Not surprising. Thousands (if not millions) of products "replicas" are manufactured and sold through China. Once you're clear about your own personal values when it comes to things like intellectual property and digital piracy, you can make your own decision to buy or not to buy these.
