I have a jack i got from my grandfather. It seems like i dont get full rise out of the jack when i move the handle a full up and down cycle. I have a picture of some numbers, but thats about all i can see. i also see the o boy on it. any help on the age or model number and if i need to rebuild this? it does have oil in it, but dont see any leaks

There's some info on the bottom of the plate that's hard to read, I'd try rubbing with a paper and pencil to raise and reveal. Other than that I'd say "919" is the model #, but "9-49" makes me think that's the manufacturing date, which if true is a long time ago for info and especially parts - good luck!

The oil level should be just covering the inner cylinder; if so, then open the release valve and pump the handle 10x to bleed any air. If that doesn't help, tear into it, then call Hydraulic Parts Supply in Sawyer KS, (620) 594-2247.

A quick search reveals O' Boy is a Hein Werner jack, that should make finding parts and doing repairs easier
