Is Cpt. Geoge's still there on Rt.60?
I worked for the construction company that modifed it from it's previous structure, back in '85-'86. When it first opened it was the largest seated restaurant in Virginia... I can't remember how many it seated, but it was a lot. There was originally two buffets in there that were at least 60' long, a raised seating area surrounded by a 2' deep moat, and sweet apartment (w/fullsize jacuzzi) built upstairs for George.
That summer, I found a sweetass '69 Chevelle with a big block, about a mile down Rt. 60 for $1500, but for some stupid reason, I didn't buy it.
Funny you ask about something for gearhead... it was a car museum before we added to it and turned it into a restaurant.
Williamsburg is a neat town, but not much in the way of gearhead stuff. Free beer samples at Busch Gardens and Richmond Speedway and drag strip isn't too far away in Dinwiddie.
