O2 Sensor sockets: lets chat!

I bought a cheap set off eBay works just fine for me. Really not that often you replace an oxygen sensor at least not in my shop. I remember once I got in trouble for cutting the wires on one because the customer wanted the part back well I gave it back with the wires cut and included the other part too the connector. The shop paid for the new one I installed and a new one for the customer to have because the customer didn’t want to leave until he had a complete one in his hand and they told me never cut wires on a part the customer wants back lol. It was not wanting to come out so I did that to get on it better. Maybe that’s why they don’t give me the oxygen sensor jobs anymore . This was and still is a regular customer who request everything back doesn’t matter if it’s old brake pads, spark plugs whatever he wants it back. Maybe he scraps them i don’t know. I just know don’t damage any of his old parts.

Just tell him it'll take an extra hour on his dime to take the old sensor out intact, that will usually make them change their tune.
I've cut them off with a sazall right above the hex in order to get a short socket on them.

If the tool is trying to spread put a hose clamp on the end and tighten it up it will reenforce the tool. I haven't had to try this but I saw someone do it and it sounds like a good idea.

Haha that would be good. Maybe I could get them to do it. Unfortunately I have no say in that. At least now we are all hourly because of winter time. We will be back on flat rate March 1st when they say things pick back up from the winter slow down. I deal with a lot of annoying customers but at least I’m not the main one they have to talk too.
