Apologies in advance if this has been covered. Looking for (as a small gift for a friend) an inexpensive OBD2 plug-in compatible with an iPhone >iOS 3.0 that can be connected via Bluetooth using Torque Pro or similar. Some are advertised as only compatible with an android phone. There are some offered as functioning with iPhones only via WiFi. All insight appreciated!

I own torque pro and Bluetooth adapter. It works flawlessly however I was under the total impression that it is not compatible with Apple whatsoever.

At work anyone who uses an iPhone bought a used android and used it's bluetooth.

Some older android phones don't require phone service, so you could always buy a used android tablet or phone and give him that along with a reader.

NK: Thanks. Yeh, the apple compatibility is the apparent bump in the road. There seems to be apps for it out there...if I could find the right device. Your suggestion re: the second phone is a good one, but I'd like to find another way if possible. Thanks again for the reply!
