OBD2 scanner.

I seem to have misplaced my bluetooth OBD2 scanner, but I've had it for a few years and although I was happy with it I figured I would ask around as to what everyone else is using and if they like what they have. Mine was a BAFX, worked fine and it would clear the codes. Any input would be appreciated.

I have the Blue Driver and so far, so good, but I haven't used it for anything difficult. Just routine emissions codes and helping out a neighbor with coolant sensor, O2 sensor, and misfire troubles.

I mainly got it because I switched to an iPhone and my BAFX/Elm only works with Android. Blue Driver will work with both and the $99 price is supposed to include software updates.

I have a bunch of the cheap bluetooth ones, autoenginuity and Bluedriver, which I always grab first these days, quick, handy and gives you lots of information. More importantly, it always works the first time

To answer your question, I'd need more information. Like: do you plan to just read/clear codes & look at generic OBD II data (Mode 6)? Do you want the ability to look at other systems (ABS, SRS, TRANS, BCM, ...), use bi-directional control, ...?

I retired from auto mechanics when the cars seemed to be more rolling computers than mechanical devises. So the only things I fix now are my own and my family and friends. And I do pretty good diagnosing so I just need something to get me codes, I ordered the Bluedriver yesterday , right now I have an older sport trac that decided to stop shifting so I'd like to see if I can pull a code. Because of the way it happened I'm thinking I have a bad connection, or the computer is shot, but I figured having a code or 2 wouldn't hurt.

Also, I'm using ALLData for vehicle specific diagnostics. What do you use?
