I work at a shop, I am looking for a memory saver since I get alot of batteries thrown at me that need to be done right away. I woul like one that plugs into the obd port since the cig lighter does not always work anymore. Now the hard part, we have a jumper box at the store, but its always out on a jump start, left in another area, dirty, or any other number of things. I have some milwalkee m18 stuff, they have the usb power port for that. I see they have the cig lighter plug for the m12, but not on the m18. Would a obd2 to usb cable pluged into an m18 battery work? Or do those not let power through? I assume a memory saver plugged into the m12 port would work? I dont have any m12 yet........... This could be the push I need to get some. I would like to use the m18 if it is possible. Anyone know?

The usb only puts out 5v, nit enough, A memory saver should work plugged into the m12 power port. You could always just use another car battery or a motorcycle, mower, or atv battery.
I thought about the small gel cell battery, but then I need another charger. With the small batteries with power tools, it would work better for space. I could keep it in my tool cart. I am trying to stay small. Another car battery would be dirty, and cumbersome. I thought the output might be low on that usb port. I guess I will be getting into the m12 line. I have and love the m18 stuff. Thanks for the input.

Im sure you will love the m12 line. I am a fan myself as well as a few other members. I would seriously look at the new fuel line to see if there is anything that you could add to your arsenal.
If i were you i wouldn't bother getting the m12 power port though. The m12 battery can easily accept 1/4 spade connectors to provide power, I do this quite often for testing lights. You could take an OBD cable (have an old broken scan tool?) and crimp the spade connectors on. Just be sure to mark the polarity so you don't plug it in backwards,
