Building up my motorcycle tool roll.
Looking for a set of double box end wrench
(alredy have s set of double open end).
Found a set of double box end obstruction wrenches, good price.
I know the advantage of obstruction wrench.
How is it if I use this set instead of the straight wrench.
Would I run into ..... eh ..... obstructions?

I don't mean to ask if I will need obstruction wrench on a bike. I was wondering if using OW be a problem in a non-obstruction situation. Meaning if I would normally use a straight wrench, now I have a OW, would it not work, like needing more clearence or something.

A friend got them as gifts. Never used them for years. He offered to give them to me for free. I was looking for doule box ends anyways.

i dont see a point of asking when he is giveing you for free :)

and yes, most case you will not have enough room to turn the nuts or bolts.

so, get free wrench and buy what you need

obstruction wrenches are handy for cylinder base nuts. but you probably wont be pulling the jugs on the roadside. i have a s shaped wrench i use for pans and shovels.

The more I think about it, the more I think in normal use, the OW would be a pain in the ****. I suspect the OW is very good in situations where the OW was designed for that purpose, gettig around obsructions. In a normal situation, where a straight wrench wouldwork fine, the OW probably requires more clearance. The OW wrench becomes THE obstruction to itself. I'll let my friend keep is collection.

The ones offered to me by my friend were "c" OW. Sears called them OW. Maybe they are called by another name. Kind of like Star & Torx.

I have some but hardly ever use them. Normally a socket with an extension will work.
I have used one on car door hinge bolts. A lot are sold for starters but I use an extension and socket with an air wrench.
