I'm not sure any other US brands made those other than a specialty wrench here or there.

Does Snap On even carry them anymore?

EDIT: yes they have them on the site

if you check ebay there are likely some old craftsman ones out there, should be made in USA.
Gear wrench makes some, I have a set that pivots in that direction. Not to be confused with the standard flex head.

I think Craftsman on has one wrench like this 9/16 x 5/8 in., 12 pt. It is a "C" shape and not an "S" shape.

Regular Model # 04376 / Craftsman Industrial Model# 24871.

^^^THIS. I have frequently purchased used wrenches at swap meets to cut and weld or heat and bend for specific applications. They work better than generic "obstruction wrenches" and cost less.

I know its not USA made but I would look at the ones from gearwerench.
the reason is that when using these you often can only move the wrench a little and then reposition. so you are moving that thing 1/12th at a time. I hate dealing with that.
with a ratcheting version once you break it loose then you can ratchet it. makes life easier

MAC is an option although probably not reasnably priced, Cornwell and Craftsman do the C shape so perhaps do S as well, would be good one for used tool as generally don't get massive amount of use. Go europe brands or taiwan and options are endless .

I have a few Snap-On "C" wrenches for pulling starters.
As far as cutting and welding a wrench to a specific task there are lots of applications where a Manufacturers Specialty Tool is required but its cheaper to buy a wrench to cut up for the task rather than get on a Manufacturer Vendor list.

The "C" shaped wrenches are called Manifold/Starter wrenches. Real old school.
I got a set of I think 6, from Mac a few years ago.

I would not spend a lot of money on those tools. I have a few and have not used them in 20 years. As previously mentioned, you could fabricate one when you need it, or even buy just the one you need.

With wrenches you can usually go to an industrial brand for a better deal, but S wrenches are an automotive specialty wrench. You're stuck with either truck brands or foreign made knock-offs.

I only needed something similar looong ago. So I just took a box wrench and bent it to fit. Never did need a "set".

Proto also makes those C or crescent-moon type wrenches. Maybe more reasonable cost than snap-on, depending on vendor situation. Also, another brand to search used/ebay for.Good luck.
