Those look like they would be great for a home-made shuffleboard table. I've always wanted to build one but I just don't have the room to do so.

I have also heard of people getting scraps from places that make semi truck trailers. It's like a giant cutting board.

You can buy the semi trailer flooring at many trailer parts supply places.I used to replace quite a bit of it when I worked for TIP trailer leasing.

So I emailed the guy. He charges $30-$60 a linear foot, depends on if you want the beginning, middle or end pieces. He will cut to size as well.

Not sure if this will help you but most lumber yards will custom cut you tongue and grove hardwood lumber to any dimension and thickness that you want; they will also plane it for you. All you do is assemble it and varnish it when done.

As far as price goes the sky is the limit you can choose rock hard maple to any exotic wood that they carry. I am assuming that you want bowling alley wood because it is cheaper then buying new wood?

If this is the case you can give your own lumber to them and they will tongue and groove it for a fee or they can plane it for a few dollars or do both (they do not care if it is not their wood after all you are still paying them for their service).

I hope this helps you out.

When I was young and DUMB, VERY DUMB, I cleaned out a Warehouse that was owned buy a company I worked for. One of the many things that I hauled to the dump was truck load after truck load of Bowling Alleys. They were from a old Moose logde or Elks club or something. I junked loads of stuff that I would pay good money for now.

Between my father and I, we just bought (Dec.) 4 sections of alley between 10 and 12 foot a piece. We paid $10/ foot from a guy up near warsaw, IN we found in the AutoRV mag. (Not the same one pictured above)

I already have the workbench table top trimmed out and halfway sanded. I will post a thread once i get the thing varnished. It took a back seat when i got my lift :)

It worked out really great for a workbench top. I've got plans to use my other piece to make a 12' harvest table for our dining room!

That sounds terribly expensive to me. I paid $8.00 a linear foot three years ago. I built two 12' long benches. I've seen several places in the Midwest that are charging $10.00 a linear foot. One thing to keep in mind - new bowling lanes are mostly composite (plastic). Some day these wood lanes will be pretty scarce.
