I was bored with college and took some time off to work in a neighbor's machine shop. I worked for him and two other shops as a machinist (manual/CNC mills and lathes) for 10 years. Ended up getting pretty darn good, but needed a change. I quit and took off 9 months then found an interest in IT -which I've been doing ever since. I now work for a company that develops and sells IT efficiency software and consultant services. Best part is I get to work from home now.

My first job was self-employed, distributed the daily newpaper. Then worked for Dad builing houses, a bunchof odd jobs, 10 + years selling auto parts, a fireman/emt for 10 years. The last 30 years self-employed selling/servicing fire extinguishers, sprinklers, suppression systems. I now have 3 full employees, and we cannot keep up.

New here also. Really enjoy this site. I've been self employed since 1978. Custom home builder, Exterior Plastering and Drywall. Now with construction the way it is in California I'm in my shop restoring cars for customers. Mustangs, Camaros, 39 Chevy in progress. A 59 Retractable in line. Thank goodness I restored my own cars over the years and done well at shows with them. If not probably homeless or close to it. lol

Now I'm in my 4th year of college for Mechanical Engineering Technology, as a full time student. I also work weekends and when I'm not in class at a Firestone as a part time tech almost 40hrs a week.

I don't get much information as far as alloys but I do a little bit with it. A lot of what I do is testing for failing, and checking out whats popular in the market. Like I said we are a home owner line and will never try to be a truck brand. We just want to be a good tool, at a great price.

Whenever we are going to get a new product or change it I try to make sure things are for the best and really a good decision.

I would have to say my specialty is automotive hand tools. I used to work for Lowe's and I do a lot of hobby mechanic stuff, by no means am I a professional wrencher, but I have done my share. These guys really want to move the brand and quality forward and I'm happy to be apart of it.
