I've never seen pliers that are short like this. I figured somebody ground them down but they where made from the factory this way. Does anybody know what they where made to use on? They also seem to be a little more heavy duty. Sorry for the bad photo.

They look like #410 Nut Busters to me. That's how they come from the factory. They're made to grab, hold and turn nuts with previously rounded over corners. They're really good pliers.

Once again I learned something new. I know I have an older pair or two of them, just thought they were outdated. I tell my kids that you don't get smarter talking.

When an old man is fussing with a stripped head on a drain plug and suddenly says "dammit, hand me the Channellocks" that's the ones he's talking about.

The top ones are a must have in my tool bag. They are great for smaller pipe instead of a pipe wrench. You can use them on up to 1/2" fittings and 3/4" pipe. They bite really well.

I have an old set marked Champion DeArment Meadville PA No. 410 Channellock. On the other side, Pat in Can 1933 US Pat 1950362. No comfort grips. They also have twice the groove engagement of other Channellocks. Definitely handy

I've typically heard them referred to as parrot nose pliers. That's a term that probably fits multiple things but if you google it these Channelock 410s are the first thing that pop up.

my 407s are marked like this. worth more money to the right crowd. i always dig the old stuff. lots of pride put in some of the older tools.
