I saw that as well. Biggest issue I see is that the drive pulley for the sadner and the grinder are perpendicular to each other. Looks like a 4x36 sander. Unless that cover is some kind of home-made converter to turn belts 90deg?

That, with the vac in the cabinet for $100? Heck, go get it.

How about gears, like a car differential? "Diff" style runs the grinder wheels, gear or belt runs the sander. WAG on my part, but seems workable.

Sometimes people get confused and anything with a Craftsman motor on is said to be a Craftsman tool.

That is weird looking. I've seen the part that has the buffer wheels before. It's a common CM item. You would use one motor and run several different things on the system. The big part is confusing. Is it Craftsman also?

I was puzzled by that as well. I assume the big lump that connects the grinder and sander parts is some form of a right angle drive. Looks like a home-brewed setup.

lol. The previous posts reminds me of an old saying and this picture proves it. When we assume it makes an *** of U and ME. Everyone assumed it was some kind of contraption fabricated by some ingenious fellow. Let that be a lesson to all of us, we all assumed at one time or another. Me included.
