Odd little ratchet

Picked this up recently. Stubby swivel head ratchet by davenport tools.

I have seen a couple on ebay over the years but do not know much about them. This one appears to be unused so I coughed up 30$ for it.

It almost appears to be a thumb ratchet they put a handle on

OTG: looks like it could come in handy too if you have a tight space and the right job for it.

Hard to tell from the pic, but what type of a ratchet mechanism that that thing have? It almost looks like a Kilness patent mechanism (New Britain production). Have you opened it up to see what the internals look like? Would love to see more pics.

Reminds me of these OTC swivel heads, except they used a push-thru plug to reverse.

I think I have the full size version of that ratchet in the basement. Didn't realize they made a stubby.

Never heard of the brand but when you need a stubby swivel ratchet thats the only thing that will do the job.

That’s known as the Spinut ratchet.

Hard to tell from the pic, but what type of a ratchet mechanism that that thing have? It almost looks like a Kilness patent mechanism (New Britain production). Have you opened it up to see what the internals look like? Would love to see more pics.

The outside looks a bit like it but it isn’t NB.

The Davenport does have a full size version. It’s been a little while since I’ve seen one.

They also made Sidewinder, similar head but has a curved handle, and the Crick-It squeeze ratchet.
