Long story short before I went to bed last night I was out in the garage grabbing something and noticed that even though the thermostat is set to 54 degrees it was only 50 in the garage. I have the thermostat (Black and Decker one from Menards) set with a 2 degree differential. Didn't think anything of it and went to bed.
This morning when I took the kid to daycare I saw that it was now 46 in the garage while the set temp was still 54.
Came back home and increased the temp to 60 just to see if my Mr. Heater Big Maxx 50k BTU would fire up. Nothing. The LED was doing the "Slow Flash" which is Normal Operation - No Call for Heat. Thought that was odd.
I simply shut off power to the unit (I wired it to it's own independent breaker with a light switch that operates the outlet it's plugged into) and waited a minute or so and turned it back on. She made the call for heat and fired right up. Anyone else have this happen before? Seems odd that simply "shutting it off and turning it back on again" would work? My worry is it will happen again but who knows. If it does I have a very basic analog thermostat that I might try to see if it's a faulty thermostat instead.

I bought the heater in April of 2022 but finally got around to installing it in October. On the plus side I did finish insulating the attic (about R45 worth of blown in) last week and it's nice to see that I only lost a few degrees overnight when the heater wasn't running. Good for these MN winters I guess.
