Odd Snap on sockets

Anyone familiar with these sockets ? I would like some information about them but seems like they are a bit rare. I think these are what is known as Power Sockets but not 100% sure

These look very much like a set of deep, metric, sockets I bought in the mid 70’s.
Im not home right now so I can’t take a pic of mine.
I warranted a few of these over the years and had one truck dealer say he’d never seen sockets like those.

Here are some pics of my set, 19mm to 9mm. The 15 and 13mm have been replaced.
Good or bad idea I used these sockets almost daily for more than 35 years with 3/8” drive impact as needed.







I know nothing about them being called “Power Sockets”.
IIRC I was told once that these were impact sockets but had the sliver section to distinguish them as metric???

There are some really knowledgeable SnapOn experts on here maybe they will chime in.

They look like pretty normal impact sockets to me.

I believe you’re right. I never cracked the hex end.
The reason I warranted the two sockets was because the drive end was worn enough that the sockets were loose on the anvil of the impact gun.

They were from before they used coining on the edge of metrics to differentiate them from SAE.

Also, they are old enough that his Snap-on driver had never seen them. That is saying something…

Also, they have the tapered business ends on the smaller ones, like old SK.

They are just an older version of 1/2” metric impacts. The 10mm is probably twice as heavy as a modern one.

I purchased my sockets about 1975 when I was working part time in a motorcycle shop.
