Odd (to me) socket

Picked up 5 boxes of old tools today. Sorting them out I found a set of these.
Any ideas? No name or size on them.

I have that socket but is permanentally attached the a speeder. I agree with Rich.

If I'm seeing it correctly, it's out of an old school (1920's-30's) socket set. I have a couple like that, wooden boxes, everything from 6 or 8 sides to square drives to take out trans/differential plugs or the old screw in "freeze" plugs.
