Odd vise ID help?

A friend has a collection of junk that needs to be seen to be believed. Trust me on this one...

He has a few interesting vises in his shop, ones that I don't know. The vise big brains (big vise brains?) of GJ will come through in no time, I'm sure.

This one's his all-time favorite, after a life involving fifty years or more of beating on stuff. The jaws rotate on it.

This one is obviously built for some special purpose -- I shoulda asked.

This one is pretty self explanatory. Laying outside in the weeds 'cause he really never found the need for it. I may rescue that one some day.

the first vise has my interest. too bad he was using it to weld one or it looks like he has heated up the top of the jaws pretty good. it's an early 1900's swivel vise that there are many many imports of that style in use today. that one's a keeper and not sure of the brand name which might be on the other side of the vise.

the Blacksmith vise looks like the spring broke and has a temporary one taped in it's place so not sure how functional it is now.

the Prentiss swivel jaw vise is a decent looking old vise maybe early 1900's, but the handle doesn't look right so it might be halfway out and missing a part or not sure what the issue is with it.

nice little assortment your friend has that is for sure.

Does the vise in the first pic rotate 360 degrees up and down? I know it has a swivel base, but what is confusing me is the slide is square. Most of the knockoff imports that drivesitfar mentioned have a round slide allowing it to rotate. I'm guessing it has another smaller diameter tube inside the outer one with a square inner cutout that rotates.

At least drag that Prentiss in out of the weather.

Looks like the lead screw is hanging out thought. The handle is too far away from the vise for it to be in correctly. Also it is missing a swivel base.
