No idea who made it. But for $40 bucks and if it were close it would be mine, just for the cool factor.

I have never seen one like it before. If it is close enough it is at least worth checking it out.

Yes, the rare prototype Bugatti hexagonal. One of one.:willy_nil

The only vise I've seen with a hex spindle is the Craftsman that zoomiport has. No info on this one, but the price isn't too high. Go take a look and if it's well built then take it home.

It has no markings other than a SN on the spindle (or "quill"). It also looks to be made of welded components, and has integral teeth cut directly into the jaw sections.

It's about an hour drive, but I will take a shot....

I like the vise and for $35 how can you go too far wrong if no cracks, welds, or broken or missing parts. also while I was there checking out and probably buying the unique one I'd be probably trying to buy the other old US vise in the picture on the bench sitting next to it.

that vise looks European and would look pretty cool in a Blue, Green or light grey color.

good luck

The "hex" vise was sold last night. The vise next to it is a Rock Island 574 and he would take no less than $80 for it.

what part of the world do you live in? seems like an ok deal and if I can't buy it there are plenty on GJ that might need a nice vise? is it on craigslist or just a friend selling it? ad link??
