Rediscovered this solid aluminum hacksaw while 'organizing' my garage. It is stamped "Kenneth Smith". It is about 9" long and uses a 6" blade. My internet search skills tell me that the Kenneth Smith company made gold clubs from 1928 - 2004. No mention of other products. The stamp matches their logo.

Anyone seen a hacksaw like this one? Maybe a promotional product or may be they did make non golf related products? Solid tool, feels good in the hand.

Looks almost like surgical equipment. Should tolerate repeated autoclaving with no damage.

Agree with your guess it was a promotional product for pro shops who customized Kenneth Smith gold club shafts to length. It's too short to be of general use, but easy to control to cut small diameters.

Someone on Etsy had one listed as “Kenneth Smith Aluminum Golfers Hacksaw Grooving Saw”. Googling is turning up nothing further, but it might kickstart someone..

Appreciate the responses. The Etsy mention motivated me to log into Etsy to see if I bought the one mentioned. Surprisingly, I purchased a handful of tools from that site over the years --- but not this saw. I think i picked it up at a Goodwill in Florida. Etsy sighting proves that there was more than one. As mentioned above by Packard, I also think it was used for cutting shafts.

I am not knowledgeable in golf clubs, so i cannot argue either way. Google returned quite a few examples of groove sharpeners, none were saws. Cannot conclude much from looking at modern examples, so who knows.
