OEM for Snap On Stripper/Crimper?

Does anybody know if this is actually a Snap-On tool or if it was manufactured by somebody else FOR Snap-On? I am extremely interested in these to replace my Milwaukee spring loaded wire strippers & my Channel Lock wire crimper/cutters.

Sorry I can't help with your direct question, but if you aren't set on that exact style stripper/crimper, there is a good BOGO in this month's MAC flyer. Buy an automatic crimper/stripper (which are great if you are right handed and still okay, but not great for leftys) you get a regular stripper/crimper free (though a different style than the one you pictured. http://resources.mactools.com/flyers/USM_2017_1/index.html#/2/

I can't say for sure but I suspect Snap On is the manufacturer. Other tool companies have similar wire strippers but the COO is usually China, or Taiwan.... Snap On's stripper is made in the USA. Not to mention there are a few other characteristics that resemble other SO produced pliers. Snap On already manufacturers MANY of their own pliers, in their own factories so it wouldn't be that far of a stretch for SO to also make these strippers.

Maybe compare USA Klein 1010, but I think that SO is the oem of their plier as well.

(edit: most of these multi-pliers can't crimp very good tho)

I figured as much, I think it would work much better if the functions were reversed

I have separate crimpers and strippers. I can't stand either one to not be on the end of the tool. Far too many times I need to do both with limited room like repairing a wire in a multi wire loom where the repaired wire can't be separated far enough away to get the tool in there if it's not on the end.

I'd be willing to bet these are made by SO. Most of the stripper/crimpers are stamped out of sheet metal, where these are forged. I bet they are pretty comfy too.

As JDon mentiond above..... those look like they are stamped out of sheet metal. The SO stripper/crimper is forged steel. I own a pair of the SO strippers in question, they are very sturdy and perform crimps with no problems. I highly recomend them.

You hit on a point that was my initial thought when i first saw them. And then even after i sought them out lol. I think they would be great for bench work, but i do agree, in car work i've even had times where i just used a fine knife because the wires were so taught and packed together. crimping is just as fun if the wire cutter is on the end of the pliers in tight spaces!

Still just a set of everyday, run-of-the-mill, crimper/strippers... albeit higher quality. They are nicely built I have to admit. I still prefer a dedicated set of stripers and ratcheting crimpers (if space allows) for better quality crimps.
