Hey, is that the 40 inch middle one that fits on the bottom 40 inch? I almost got enough money to buy my 40 inch bottom box and im gonna save up for the middle box next, but i dont want a top box. I just want the bottom box and the middle box. Im gonna use the middle box for all my sockets. Im worried about since their is gonna be no top box, when i slide the middle drawer out, whats gonna hold it from tipping over.....

Nah, not a 40in. As a weekened wrencher I can't really justify a big roller chest. Went with this 13 drawer chest.

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_...ls&sName=Tool+Chest+Combos&cName=Tool+Storage

But when I get there to pick it up (40 minutes away) they tell me that the middle box is damaged. :\ Even though the other 2 have been at the store for 2 weeks I waited until all three were there to go pick them up. So I am noticeably unhappy at this point, and asked to talk to a manager. Calmly explained my situation, they were very understanding, and offered to give me a CMan roller stool to make up for having to make a second trip down there in order to get the middle chest when the replacement comes in. I was cool with that. :D

Didn't have much time yesterday to do anything other than unbox and start to put drawer liners in. Here is a crappy cellphone picture.

You can see my buddy Bailey trying to figure what is going on. :D :D

Started organizing the box the last couple of nights. Not really happy with what I have now, but don't want to put anything into the top box until the middle box arrives. :(

Sooo, first picture is the metric drawer right now, once I have the middle box the sockets will come out. Also the snap On set that I got from KLars in the back. :) Also have some more wrench racks coming too.

Second picture is torque wrenches, some misc sets like the snap on bushing driver set and CMan threading set, and both sets of calipers.

Bottom drawer right now has my makita angle grinder(love the metal case), orbital sander, dremel, and a bunch of drill bits that will be going over to my edsal work cart when I convert it to my woodworking/tablesaw stand.

Man. I love having a big(to me) tool box. SOOO much better already than working out of half a dozen hand boxes. :) Thanks so much to everyone here for giving me to bug to start growing the collection. :D My wife probably hates you all now. :D

Soooooo. Still no middle box from Sears. This is getting a tad ridiculous. I haven't been able to start loading the top box because I don't want to have to unload it just to put the middle box in the stack. Argh.

I ordered it in store, but they wanted me to pay for shipping to my door. Maybe if I had done that the middle box wouldn't have shown up broken. Plus it seems impossible to get anyone on the phone at that store. Doh.

With the people. I kind of had to. My wife got me a red/black box for Christmas, so I returned it unopened and then ordered the blue box. I may have to drop by on lunch today and have a little chat.

You can justify your boxes by telling your wife that you are fullfilling new years resolutions on getting organized and that she'll have more room in the garage to park her car.

Nice! The blue boxes are the best looking ones IMHO. I actually am tired of waiting on the original intermediate box I ordered, so I ordered another one. I know I will need the space anyways, and after Bing cashback I was able to get the midnight blue 18in deep 26in 3 drawer intermediate box (griplatch) for $125 shipped to my door. It will be here tomorrow. Pretty stoked about that.

I have a few pictures of the lower and upper boxes to add here in a few minutes :)

So here are some pictures. :D

First picture is the socket drawer. All made in the USA. :D Mostly CMan, Mac, and S-K, with some Snappy mixed in.

Second is the metric wrench drawer, don't have any of my SAE wrenches in a drawer yet. Will put them in one of the drawers in the deeper intermediate box when it gets here.

Third is a misc. drawer. Has the three torque wrenches, calipers, tap and die set, bushing driver kit, and some other stuff.

Fourth is the ratchet drawer as I have it set up now. Mostly CMan, with a few S-K and one Mac 3/8 flex head.

Fifth is the screwdriver drawer. Definitely going to use one of the full depth drawers in the intermediate box for screwdrivers. My one, single, lonely Snappy hard handle is in here. :D Along with all of the Mac and Matco wood handled drivers. Love those.

The middle chest I ordered came in yesterday. Still waiting on the original. :\ pulling some pictures off my camera now. I am actually really glad I went with the full depth griplatch intermediate box. I have it full already and I am almost out of room in all three boxes.

First shot is the whole stack with the new middle box in place. I think it looks awesome. :D And yes I know the garage is a mess. I'm working on it. :D

Second shot is the three small drawers in the top box. Not really sure what to put in here, so I went w/ hex keys, chisels, punches, and some other various stuff. The top has a bunch of random stuff in it right now as I look for places to put all of it.

Third is the disaster that is my pliers drawer at the moment. Ordered a pliers rack this morning, so when that gets here this drawer should be looking a bit better.

Fourth is my second screwdriver/nutdriver drawer. Saving some room for my blue Snappy hard handles whenever I can find a set. :D

Still have to get my SAE drawer(s) organized as I ran out of time last night. :D Gives me something to do when I get snowed in tomorrow.

Three questions...
Is that step stool under the box there so you can easily reach into the top box?

Its actually a base I made that goes to a stand I made to work on my downhill mountain bike. The rest of the stand hangs from hooks from the rafters. When my box is closed its just under eye level for me. So when its open I have no problem seeing the sockets in the top.

Snowed in. :D Get to work in the garage all day. :D :D

Nice box! A day in the garage is a good day.

Yep! Good eye, I was moving around stuff in my work box and set it up there before taking the picture. It has been a lifesaver more than a few times. The cabling at some of our older sites isn't always well labeled. :D

Yeah, I do some line work now and again. But I tell you what I have used it to trace down all kinds of wires (not just communication). Really can be a handy tool IMO. I had a really nice **** set (harris digital) that got stolen out of my rental car a year or so ago...still need to buy a replacement.

That ***** on the theft.

Here are the last two shots. Have too many SAE wrenches to get them in to one drawer. The larger drawer has my MAC combos, flare nut, and angle wrenches with one chicom combo wrench in there as well, while the smaller drawer is mostly CMan raised panels.
