Can anyone recommend a solid road transporter to bring a car from Detroit to Houston? Many thanks!!!

I went thru hell trying to find one on-line. The big compaines take forever and you will pay a good chunk. The little guys, you just never know who to trust!

Finally I found a guy (of all places) on E-bay. He had a dually with a three car trailer and hauled a Samurai from OK City to LA, for about 1/2 of what anyone else would. I dont' remember his name, sorry.

Try Counrtyside Auto Transport Inc. (920-739-0681) if an open trailer is OK. They transport cars from upper midwest to the south all the time and they haul lots of classics and muscle cars so they know how to treat them. Professional, reasonable and prompt service.

I have used Passport Transport for years and wouldn’t trust anyone else with my cars. They may be a bit pricey like any other major hauler; but you get what you pay for. Bob Pass started the company nearly 40 years ago and is the person that “invented” covered car transportation. In 2000 Passport was taken over by Federal Express. Bob is an avid true lover and collector of cars and attends many of the major car shows around the country.

I used DAS one time and was satisfied. I've heard good things about Passport/FEDEX too. The things you need to be concerned about:
1. Covered transport
2. Insurance claims
3. Customer satisfaction history
4. How many times do they load/unload/change trucks
5. Guaranteed schedule
