Each day I am excited today might be the day the package might be delivered, so this is actually more fun this way. Definitely looking forward to posting images once I receive my package.

I know if I had to deal with a significant other that complained about the cost of my Harry J Epstein order, I'd quickly chime in about how much she has spent on shoes, clothes, purses, make-up etc. As very few of those mentioned items are still manufactured stateside and in reality, all of those items are disposable.

mine too. I had ordered a 758 wrench set and 3440 flex ratchet that are BO'd. The wait just gives me more time to add other stuff to the order, must resist!

The goods arrived. Great customer service from both HJE and Wright Tool.

The Wrightgrip wrenches and 3440 ratchet are sweet.

Just received the order confirmation yesterday. Not sure when this will arrive, but hopefully next week. 25 pounds of all American made products with custom made artwork as well.

I'd like to thank Bull for setting this event up once again this year but also Harry J Epstein, SK, Channellock, Armstrong and of course Wright. I only speak for myself, but even without bonus items, this event is my favorite event out of the entire year.

Again for me, there is a sense of community and positivity with Harry J Epstein Day. There are hardly any family owned and run hardware stores these days and even less that focus on supporting American manufacturing.

I often feel as if I am in the minority when this comes to supporting American manufacturing, but seeing the amount of people that partake in Harry J Epstein Day and SK Day last year makes me hopeful that more than just a small handful of Americans still care.

For those of you who still don't have your orders yet, I'm just posting this to rub it in. Sunday I decided I needed a good 11/16" bit for drilling metal, and tonight, I have another Norseman bit in my stable. :moon:

I love reading the words Union and American made. Norseman twist drills are a work of art and that can't be said for most twist drills.

I ordered several Norseman twist drills myself including a 23/32 size for a upcoming project. Not sure if the big box stores even carry this size, but this doesn't matter as this would meet my criteria. Might be okay for others, but we all have our preferences.

So not to derail this thread, but this happened the other day...

http://www.harryepstein.com/index.php/blog/60-pallets-of-tools/

I told myself that I wasn't going to spend anymore money on tools this year after Harry J Epstein Day. Well I am fine with avoiding other venues, but not so much with HJE. Something tells me there are some great deals similar to last year's pallet.

Then again, I will gladly work more, as I get the feeling you acquired some cool items.

Out of curiousity Jori, are you willing to provide any Garage Journal specific hints about what might be in those pallets? For example if any are NOS USA made tools or information such as that?

Thanks for upgrading the host. I was wondering if there was an issue on my end.

Well, I'm not allowed to divulge where all this stuff came from, but most likely the super sleuths here at Garagejournal will be pretty quick to figure it out.

We got lots of NOS Craftsman stuff. Most of its USA (but not all). Everything from ball driver sets to chisels to Craftsman pro pliers.

Also got lots of adjustable wrenches of various US brands and Husky screwdrivers.

Jori, I don't want to get you in trouble, nor disrespect you at all. That wouldn't be fine with me and I legitimately hope I didn't put you in a uncomfortable position by that question.

Thanks for the information. I had a feeling you received more Husky items, albeit that is obvious given one of the images. Either way, I am looking forward to next week now haha.

Either way, looking forward to seeing what USA made items were acquired. That and I'll admit, I give the staff at Epstein's and you credit for sorting, stocking and uploading images/descriptions online.

Damn, I need some items I cancelled anyway and now this. Short story, bought a nearly new sae saltus wrench set minus 2 tools. Guy calls me up and says he has found them but turned out to be 1 of 2. Need another saltus to complete.

60 pallets has gotta have something everyone wants/needs.

Order just showed up and I'm unpacking - photos on the way.

Now that is what I call cool box art and great tools to match. All these postings make me more and more excited about when my order will come. Patience is a virtue though.

Hmmm sounds like a western forge buy to me :dunno:

Ugh. My heart says yes but my wallet cries out. We shall see what I can't live without. I'm excited for you to start posting that haul.

So how do the pallet deals work or at least how did the last one work? Will they be in a special part of the website? Will it be bundles?

Normally they go up under the "closeouts" section of the website organize by brand.

So, I mailed off one of the little product forms that came with one of my Wright tool wrench sets and under comments I requested a paper catalog and whaddya know, this arrived today. It was accompanied by a letter and business card from their Director Of Business Development thanking me for my interest and inviting me to contact him with any product questions or other inquiries. Pretty dang cool. I sense more Wright in my future.

I went to Camp for a week. No phone, no TV, no internet.
I got back this evening to find a package from HJE. After a 5hr drive it was a nice surprise to come home to.

Majestic Roughing Out Dolly___________55130
General Purpose Low Crown Dolly______55135
HJE 2" Hard Hat Sticker______________STICKER
Molded Chrome SK Emblem___________SKSKA1002
Freebies - a pair of Craftsman angle screwdrivers

The sticker and the SK emblem will get mounted to magnetic paper so I can move them around on my toolbox.

Thanks Jori and staff for the attention you've given us, and the freebies. They were a nice surprise.

They sent me a crummy CD with the worst PDF version of their catalog ever on it... I wish I had gotten a paper catalog!

I was kinda surprised they did it, after all the postage alone was almost nine bucks and that color catalog wasn't cheap to print either. I understand if they can't do that for everyone. The gesture wasn't lost on me. I'm already contemplating another purchase.

Started adding new products this morning. Should be more as the day progresses.
You can keep tabs on them in the "new items" section, which shows the most recently added items to the site.

Jori, I have a confession to make. I've been refreshing my browser on and off for a couple of hours now. Literally, I've been super excited about this, I hardly slept either.

I am giddy with happiness right now thanks to you, as this gave me something to look forward to today.

By the way, is the Husky 408799, tool made in USA or made in USA of global components?

That looks similar to the Craftsman version that Western Forge is the OEM for. That is made in USA of global components.

Thank you so much.

On the packaging it says, "Made in the USA". There is no mention of "global components".

I just clicked on this thread after checking out the HJE website throughout this week - nice new USA-Made stuff! I've been loading my cart up, just waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger (meaning when the wife won't notice)...love it!

Does anyone have any experience with those Craftsman Professional Pliers? I have only used the Knipex-sourced ones.

I have a full set of those Craftsman Pro pliers, and they are still some of my favorites. ( I have Knipex, SK, Snap-on too)

Wow, you've gotten some good stuff in! So many things I want.

Also I've never actually seen "Western Forge" branded pliers before. Were those actually sold somewhere?

Never seen them either. I was under the impression they never branded stuff with their name on it. Maybe it was an experiment that never went anywhere.

I recall seeing some Western Forge branded pliers at my old job. Not sure where they bought from - probably MSC, Fastenal, or McMaster.

Hey, Jori. I've been watching the new items come up and am making a wish list. Can you post a note here when you get them all on your site? That way I'll know when to pull the trigger on an order.
