That was a very real consideration for me participating from another country. Shipping is equal to the value of the gifts. Next year I'll buy online in the States and ship directly from there. That way I can afford a much nicer tool. It's the idea that counts anyway.

I went this route. Mine has been ordered from its maker in the USA. Should be on its way - in the post.

I'm a little disappointed in FedEx. They picked mine up on Monday & according to the tracking info it sat in the local hub till Friday.

Mrs. Steevo made a fresh batch of Christmas goodies Sunday, some of which will find their way into my SS gift box. Now if that mail-ordered item would just show up, I could send it off.

I received my package today. Let me tell you this, whatever is inside this package has got to the most thought out, carefully selected item in this Secret Santa exchange if the care of packaging is any indicator. I'll let the picture speak for itself.

Its great to hear so many members getting their Secret Santa gifts!

This is just a friendly reminder; if you don't think your gift will get to your recipient by the 20th, please send me a PM and I can let the member know to expect it later.

Cheers!

The gift I am giving should be at my house when I get home. I will run to the post office tomorrow to ship it out. I hope he likes it - it was a tough one to decide what to get him!!

Glad to know my package got to where it needed to be safely. I broke the budget by a smidgen, but I really hope my ss puts them to good use.

Sent mine out yesterday and also received mine yesterday

I nearly opened it because it was drop shipped and I thought it was something I had ordered. I hesitated and looked at the label closely and saw the GJSS note.

Same here but I didn't mind. I had fun from the searching to the sending it out and everything in between.

In fact, this SS has inspired my office's secret Santa. I think I am the only guy and our maximum is $10! So, I plan on going into the garage and putting a killer home tool kit together for whomever I get. I'll clean and paint/acccent the tools with some pink (to keep them from migrating to their husband's shop), redo handles, get a new inexpensive tape measure, etc.

This is one of two SS I did this year, The other being one I do yearly. I don't really want to put out a number, and if my SS chooses to, he can post what he got. I see why people put a "limit" on these type of things, but again like my toolbox thread, I like to pay it forward.
